The League advises that the Disciplinary Committee was convened on Thursday 17th August 2023 to hear the matters in relation to the Dragon Warriors FC and the incidents that occurred in Sunday Division 4A match on Sunday 13th of August 2023.
 
Several matters were placed before the Disciplinary Committee in relation to the Dragon Warriors FC.
 
Player - Violent Conduct towards a Match Official
 
In the matter of the Dragon Warriors FC Player (#28) Violent conduct towards a Match Official, the Player was found guilty of all charges.
 
The Player was sanctioned with a Life suspension as permitted under the SAASL Disciplinary Rules.
 
The Player has 7 days to lodge an Appeal Notice as permitted under the SAASL Disciplinary Rules and the SAASL Constitution.
 
Club - Abandoned Fixture and breach of SAASL Rules, Regulations and Policies.
 
In the matter of the Dragon Warriors FC relating to the incidents that led to the match being abandoned and the Violent Conduct against a match Official by the Player.
 
The Disciplinary Committee found that the Club failed to abide by the SAASL League Championship Rules and Codes of Conduct and brought the game into disrepute.
 
The Dragon Warriors FC was found guilty of a serious and significant breach of the SAASL Rules and Policies and was sanctioned as follows;
 
1. The Club will have a thirty (30) Championship point deduction from the Senior team in Season 2023.
 
2. The Club will be fined a total of $400.
 
3. The Club will be banned from all SAASL Competitions for no less than three (3) years, effective immediately.
 
4. The Club’s office bearers will be banned from holding similar positions at any SAASL Club for three (3) years.
 
5. The registered Players of the Club not serving sanctions, will be permitted to register and participate in the SAASL in 2024, but will not be permitted to act as an office bearer at any Club for three (3) years, and
 
6. At conclusion of these sanctions, any future affiliation will be at the sole discretion of the SAASL Board under the terms and conditions that may be determined at that time and in accordance with SAASL Constitution.
 
The Dragon Warriors FC have 7 days to lodge an Appeal Notice as permitted under the SAASL Disciplinary Rules and the SAASL Constitution.
 
Player Eligibility Violation
 
In the matter of the Dragon Warriors FC playing an ineligible player in Sunday Division 4 fixtures, the Disciplinary Committee found the Club guilty of permitting a Player currently registered with another association to participate in the SAASL League Championship, no Player may be registered with more than one member Club or one association.
 
The Disciplinary Committee has determined that any match that the ineligible Player participated in will be awarded to the opposition with a score of 3-0 along with any applicable championship points for a win and suspended the Player.
 
The Dragon Warriors FC have 7 days to lodge an Appeal Notice as permitted under the SAASL Disciplinary Rules and the SAASL Constitution.
