SAASL Board Announcement

The Board announced in April 2025 that the League had engaged an independent consultant to support the process of recruiting a Business Manager to lead the League’s administration and assist the Board in achieving our strategic goals.
The process and position attracted a high calibre of applicants, and after a thorough interview and selection process, the Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Pearson as Business Manager of SAASL.
Matt’s background brings a strong blend of leadership, sports administration, and business acumen. With extensive experience in both grassroots and community sporting environments, Matt has held senior roles in sporting organisations where he has demonstrated a clear commitment to operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, and strategic development.
Matt’s experience as player and administrator in soccer/football and along with qualifications in management and sports administration further strengthen his ability to drive positive outcomes for the League.
Matt will work closely with the Board, our administration team, member clubs, and key stakeholders to oversee day-to-day operations, enhance the League’s governance and processes, and support the long-term growth and sustainability of the SAASL.
The Board is confident that Matt’s expertise and passion for community sport will make a valuable contribution to the League. We welcome Matt to the SAASL and look forward to the positive impact he will bring in his new role.
Matt will commence with the League on Monday 16 June 2025.
